Youth Overview
Youth at Horne is a place where 6th- 12th graders are welcomed! Youth Group is a supporting community whose goal is to encourage all to find out who God is and how we can engage in a life centered around God’s goodness!
Weekly youth is conducted as follows: announcements, whole group message, break out groups, closing reflection, and prayer
In addition to weekly meetings, we have monthly outings and trips centered around service, recreation, and fellowship!

VALENTINES DAY DINNER
Friday, February 8, 6:00 – 8:30 P.M
Youth will be the wait staff for the Valentine Dinner. Please wear a white shirt and nice pants!
ARCADE NIGHT
Wednesday, February 26, 6:30-7:45
For youth on the evening of February 26 all youth will walk to Fare Game Arcade in downtown Clayton for a night of fun, foosball, and fellowship!
2025 SUMMER MISSION TRIP
Youth will return to work with Appalachia Service Project (ASP) in 2025. We will be working on home repair and renovation projects. Please see trip details and register below.
Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Online Volunteer Registration – Our Group Number is 16331
- Place: To be determined by ASP (Appalachian Mountains of Virginia or West Virginia)
- Who: All Youth!
- Time: Leave time – Sunday, June 8th at 7:00 am & Return time – Saturday, June 14 at 4:00 pm
- Cost: $400 (make check out to Horne UMC. Please note ‘Sr. High Mission Trip’ & ‘your youth’s name’ on the check memo line).
This includes 6 nights lodging, all meals, activities, work site materials, transportation, and an ASP t-shirt. - Please complete the Horne Online Registration and the ASP Online Volunteer Registration. Payment and complete registration are due Wednesday, March 22
- Packing List:
**Clothes for the week (nothing political or inappropriate)
**Closed-toed shoes and t-shirts (no cut-off t-shirts, no tank tops, no spaghetti straps, etc.)

- sturdy long pants, e.g. jeans/overalls for the job site each day (no ripped jeans, no leggings or sweatpants)

- REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE to use at your work site and at our ASP Center
- hat
- EVERYONE will need their own bedding; sleeping bag, pillow, cot or air mattress, as we will be sleeping on a gym or school classroom floor
